  • Mitul Desai, Co-Founder

    Mitul has been helping care for his brother, who lives with schizophrenia, for the past two decades. Mitul created The Care Hack to ensure that no other family has to suffer the way his did. His experience includes leading global teams in product development and data services, and working in healthcare finance and law. Mitul also served in the Obama Administration. He is an advisor and Board Member at leading mental health organizations including NAMI-NYC. He recently wrote about his family’s experience in Forbes.

  • Eli Shalenberg, Co-Founder

    Eli is a community psychiatrist with 12 years experience working closely with individuals with mental illness and their families. He also has a background in generating clinical data for digital health products, having been a clinical investigator and advisor to mental health startups. Trying for years to fill gaps in the healthcare system, Eli eventually realized that mental health care needs to be reshaped around caregivers. He joined Mitul to found The Care Hack with the mission of providing comprehensive caregiver support.

  • Katharine Fuentes, Lead Coach

    Katharine is an LMSW with an extensive background in family therapy, individual coaching, and case management for people with mental illness and their families. At The Care Hack she works directly with caregivers, helping them plan ahead, cope with challenges, and access the right services. She directs our coaching program to ensure that direct human support is always available to our members.

  • Jeanine Bruen, Digital Content Designer

    Jeanine is an actor, singer, and writer who is passionate about mental health education. She recognized the need for expanded caregiver supports - for caregivers of the elderly as well as mental illness caregivers - while volunteering with local nursing homes and The Caravan of Angels. In her current role at The Care Hack, she combines her innate creativity and digital content expertise to educate and support caregivers.

  • Stephanie LeMelle, MD, Clinical Advisor

    Dr LeMelle is currently the Director of Public Psychiatry Education at Columbia University and New York State Psychiatric Institute, and Associate Clinical Professor at Columbia University. For 4 years she was the Clinical Director of New York State Psychiatric Institute, and for 12 years she was the Associate Director of Clinical Services at New York State Psychiatric Institute. Her expertise lies in public psychiatry, where she is a nationally-recognized thought leader in the treatment and care of people with severe mental illness (SMI).
